CHOIR
The choir meets every Thursday from 6:15pm to 7:15pm in St Nicholas Hall, adjacent to church, with a break in the summer.
-
The choir practises singing in preparation for church services.
-
A wide variety of hymns, songs (modern and old) and interesting arrangements are used.
-
Fellowship at the weekly choir meetings is very important. Shared suppers and meals for special occasions also feature highly in the life of the choir.
-
We do not hold auditions. Anyone who loves to sing is welcome.
-
You do not need to be able to read music, although it helps, but must be able to pick up a tune quickly.
-
The current membership is around 40 people, so from that we assume people enjoy being members.
During the current COVID-19 restrictions, the choir (and our instrumentalists) have moved onto the virtual platform where various contributions for our services are compiled from individual recordings made in people’s homes. These are also uploaded to www.soundcloud.com and can be found by using the search words “surc” and “virtual” without the quotation marks. Alternatively click the link at the bottom and access the recordings from the bottom right of your screen.
Super quality.
